Hey Parents from all Missing all your nice food, because the food here isn't yours. The views are beautiful and very different to home. The beds are falling apart and the rooms are freezing. We went to the river for the first time yesterday, and Izzy fell in a few times and got stuck in a tree. The journey down here was funny, as we were all entertained by "Bored Abroad" hosted by Ryan and George. Their music kept us all awake, including Miss Hababe. She was not impressed with this or her new name. Today we are measuring more sections of the river, which includes 8.3km walk. It's not looking too cold and the sun should be out. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday, bring McDonalds, our orders will be posted tomorrow. Lots of Love Abi & Tom

Good morning from the Eagle's Nest. The students have just eaten a hearty breakfast of cereals, croissants, bacon, eggy bread and tomatoes in preparation for their first day out in the field. Our morning activities will include setting up the weather station, tuition about the pilot study that we will carry out this morning followed by a one hour walk up the mountain to complete a mapping exercise of the flood catchment area. It's very cold here and we are expecting temperatures of -7 celsius because of the wind...at least it's not raining, yet!

We're here...again!

Hello parents and blog readers. Just to let you know we've arrived safe and sound at the Eagle's Nest! We're off out for an hour and half walk after our 19 hour journey to get here! We will blog an update later about the journey.
